Business Analyst – URGENT – Client of Five Continents in Abu Dhabi
PURPOSE & SCOPE: Conducts business analysis and feasibility studies to identify information systems requirements. Prepares business area models and specification for new projects. Reviews potential software products packages to satisfy information systems need and advises management on capitalizing on these software tools / products. Defines the integration requirements between all live software systems to avoid duplication of data and ensure consistency between systems. WORK PERFORMED: MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Analysis/Processes: Â· Develops (within a functional unit) existing business areas processes / practices which are not coherent with the IT norms and makes necessary recommendations to streamline such process to achieve efficiency and allow adoption of ready-made packages without customization Â· Recommends improvements to existing business areas processes to increase efficiency/reduce associated cost Â· Analyses business process changes (within functional unit) and conducts scope and impact analysis ensuring compliant with business needs Â· Produces high level â€œContext Diagramsâ€, â€œEntity Relationship Modelsâ€ and â€œdata Flow Diagramsâ€ for the development of in-house applications or assessing/appraising and selecting competing alternative software packages Â· Defines the interfacing/Integration requirements for the business area/system for the development of integration programs, to ensure consistency and avoid duplication of data and effort. Feasibility Studies: Â· Conducts professional research and analysis to individual business area objectives and ensures Critical success factors of the functional unit are met IT wise Â· Conducts existing system enhancement studies needed to have robust, updated reliable and user-friendly systems Â· Assists ITD management in the decision making process by conducting analytical interviews with users/visits sites to comprehend the business area needs Â· Assists development teams and Senior Business Analyst in the evaluation and introduction of new development techniques or tools such as case tools and tools to assist in the requirement analysis, modeling and development of in-house applications Â· Recommends optimum solutions such as software packages or in-house development, in coordination with suppliers to satisfy business area requirements. Project Management: Â· Manages small in-house Application Development projects for requirements that can not adapted within the existing applications or ready made software packages Â· Produces relevant Data and Process Models to be used in the applications development and software solutions for processes that can be in an automated processes Â· Maintains all project materials and controls change of logs and records to comply with project management methodologies and standards in coordination with Supervisor Â· Ensures consistent development strategy and adherence to project standards and trouble-shoots encountered problems that could affect the success, completion, quality or resources of the IT project Â· Formulates System Design Specifications based on the â€œBusiness Area Requirementsâ€ , â€Dataâ€ and â€œProcessâ€ model Â· Manages the users acceptance testing of the new system, implementation, user training and necessary data loading/conversion.
