Camp Foreman – Client of Five Continents in Abu Dhabi
Basic Function and Scope: Directs and participates in the provision camps and fields services in assigned area including catering, accommodation and housekeeping, camp and office maintenance, hygiene, liquor and beverages services., the provisions and maintenance of camps and offices accommodation, the preparation and serving of food and beverages through the restaurants, bars, sports and recreation amenities. Controls and regulates all air/road traffic and maintains all recreational grounds and amenities. Carries out aviation and casevac air/road transport activities. Ensures contractors adherence to contractual terms and conditions and follows up on complaints with contractors as required. Duties Performed: Depending on assigned location, the Camp Foreman will carry out all or any combination of the following duties: a. Oversees the execution of the catering contracts in the camp and office canteens to ensure compliance with contractual provisions. Includes inspecting food preparation area, bakery, mess halls, quality and quantity of food to ensure adequate standards of cleanliness, hygiene and taste. Conducts special investigations into complaints about the quality of food, and reports findings and recommendations to supervisor for corrective action. Assists supervisor in checking catering contractorâ€™s invoices and keeps daily meal count. b. Ensures that appropriate standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained. Includes participating with the supervisor in preparing monthly cyclical menus, and ensuring medical fitness and standards of cleanliness of food handlers, through medical report review. Recommends the rejection of contractors\\’ personnel who fail to meet specified Company standards. c. Coordinates with contractor\\’s site manager the planning and scheduling of camp housekeeping and maintenance services. Includes reviewing current or proposed work requirements and establishing manpower and time schedules. Conducts periodic inspection of accommodation, as necessary to ensure proper housekeeping, hygiene and maintenance standards established for the cleanliness and occupancy of living quarters. Includes ensuring proper linen changing, toiletry supplies and efficient operation of utilities, air-conditioning and laundry service. d. Follows up on hygiene inspection for all accommodation quarters and catering preparation areas, cold stores and mess halls. Includes inspecting stores and deliveries, checking refrigeration systems and reporting malfunctions to supervisor, and initiating and following up on maintenance and repairs as applicable. Checks the validity of expiry date for both perishables and other foodstuffs, directing the disposal of damaged or outdated supplies, and ensures the taking and maintenance of food samples as required. Ensures adequate garbage isolation, coverage and disposal. e. Arranges the provision of bar services, liquor issuing, stock taking and balancing, arranging and participating in the receipt and transportation of liquor from Abu Dhabi , finalizing bar accounts and reconciliation including monthly consumption statement to Government (CID). f. Controls Air/Road traffic movements of the area. Checks passenger and cargo, handling of air crafts and other transport, prepares passenger / load manifest and trip sheets for respective transport. Carries out duties associated with the booking of seats and accommodation for field employees and commuters / visitors. g. Coordinates all air traffic transport in accordance with the requirements of casevac / medievac for user companies. Provides daily weather details to IMCOS and Radio Room and consolidated weather bulletin for each month. Advises pilots on weather conditions using ground to air radio communication including information on wind direction and speed, atmospheric pressure, temperature and visibility. h. Carries out all clerical duties related to Camp Services Section including the maintenance of all service
