DEPUTY CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER MEP / ELECTROMECHANICAL BUSINESS – This is a leadership and strategic role with an electromechanical and MEP contracting company in Dubai. Job Description: Assisting the CEO for overall growth of the MEP business in the UAE, development and implementation of the companys business development plans and providing input into strategic business growth and improvement decisions. Providing support to the CEO in formulating implementation plans, including preparation of budgets, work plans, procurement plans and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plans. Taking responsibility for the business development and marketing plans implementation and reporting on the MEP SBU. Preparing and presenting to the Board, annual Operations and Capital Expense Budget. Providing a first line of communication with the clients (owners, project managers and main contractors and consultants, etc.) Strengthening relationships with the existing clients for repeat orders. Developing project leads in line with business plans and services offered by the company. Identifying new clients and following Key Account Management System for increased order bookings, improved customer relations and satisfaction. Developing and implementing operational policies and strategies to manage the company within the limits prescribed by the management. Identifying partnership opportunities with potential clients or project-specific partners and capitalizing on add-on sales opportunities across the MEP project sector. Achieving or exceeding order booking targets for carefully chosen projects with potentially healthy margins. Closely liaising with the estimation team for the preparation and timely submission of tenders and providing accurate feedback on the submitted tenders. Working closely with the Operations Managers, Project Heads and periodically identifying issues and risks, assessing impacts and developing mitigation strategies. Qualifications & Experience: A minimum qualification of a Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and HVAC based experience is preferred. At least twenty (20) years overall experience in the building services sector (MEP) with minimum five (5) years relevant experience as CEO or GM or in a senior management role handling operations of a company having a mix of small to large-sized MEP projects involving simple to complex engineering projects with multi-disciplinary services. Minimum 15 years hands-on experience in marketing, procurement, tendering & estimation, negotiation of MEP business mainly in the UAE. Hands-on experience in strategizing, gathering of market & competitors intelligence as well as preparation and compilation of MEP tenders. Ability to effectively communicate in Arabic & English. Proven track record and first level business contacts with companies / potential clients. Project marketing, report writing and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels. Computer literacy and proficiency including email, Word processing, spreadsheets, social media, etc. Knowledge of Profession Project Management software and familiarity with Management Information Systems (MIS).
