Finance Manager-Higher Education Industry – Client of Stirling Star – STIRLING STAR in Dubai
Client of Stirling Star is currently seeking Finance Manager. The position requires working with minimal direction and using a high level of computer skills within established guidelines. Candidate should have experience working with higher Education industry. The responsibilities include but not limited to: Primary Responsibilities • Responsible for smooth running of all financial aspects of the University and implement appropriate controls over incoming & outgoing transactions • Provide information in timely and accurate manner • Ensure management is supplied with information to assist in the operations of the University • Ensure finance staff understand the changing needs of the University • Ensure compliance with shareholders requirement • Satisfy all stakeholders both internal and external with provision of information and smooth running of finance function • Manage Audit • Review the payroll analysis reports and notice for accuracy for changes such as pay, resignation, new hires • Maintain prime books of account ensuring all transactions are accurately and timely recorded in the General Ledger • Create and maintain a superior accounting database with appropriate supporting documents • Responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely bank reconciliation and identifying / recording of bank charges and ascertaining the reasons for all reconciling items • Monitoring the student fees ledger ensuring fee records are accurately maintained • Liaise will all Schools and departmental Heads on all matters relating to budgetary control • Preparation of budget • Liaise with internal and external auditors on all audit matters and assisting the VP/President to implement audit recommendations • Prepare daily revenue statements • Review and analyze month end financials and other monthly financial reports • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures • Develop plans and strategies for the optimum development and use of University’s financial resources • Accountable for accurate, timely and effective budgeting, recording and accounting of University’s financial resources • Consider, study, and review the general policies governing the internal allocation of the University’s financial resources • Receive each year from the CEO, for consideration, study, and review, a detailed operating budget for the University and to make recommendations • Other duties as assigned by Line Manager. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Qualifications: Bachelors / Masters Degree in Accounting and membership of a professional accounting body Experience: 5+ year practical experience in a financial managerial role in a higher education setup Experience in management reporting Knowledge/skills: Technical and practical skills in financial controlling Skills in forecasting, budgeting and analysis of variance Strong analytical and financial skills Interpersonal skills CRITICAL COMPETENCIES ?
