Fire Supervisor – Client of Five Continents in Abu Dhabi
Required Skills –> Basic Function and Scope: –> Job Purpose: To supervise and carry out fire fighting/controlling activities while leading the fire fighting & auxiliary teams in dealing with any emergencies. Background: – The Fire Supervisor reports to Fire Officer. – The Bu Hasa Plant Fire Section has responsibility for fire fighting and Emergency Response duties. The Fire Section has to response to emergencies on the plants, Bu Hasa residential complex, neighboring contractor camps and also supporting the Adco emergency team when required. The Fire Section operates one Fire Truck, one Rapid Intervention Vehicle, has responsibilities for maintaining of 61 nos. of deluge systems in the plant, 106 Fire Hydrants & Monitors, around 100 Breathing Apparatus and more than 500 Fire Extinguishers. – The Fire section also controls the access gate, for screening and recording the movement of vehicles, personnel and materials entering and leaving the plant. Main Accountabilities: – To assist in the preparation of section Capital, Operating and 5 Year Plant budgets and to facilitate the effectives monitoring and control of expenditures per approved budget. – To contribute to the development, implementation and regular review of the Fire Services policies, procedures and systems to ensure consistent & systematic application of best practices and to improve plan performance. – To direct and participate in the periodic inspection, maintenance and testing of fire fighting and emergency equipment for effective management of critical fire & emergency incidents. To organize daily safety walks around the plant to monitor Unsafe Act. & unsafe condition. – To maintain and ensure that all fire trucks and fire fighting equipment are functioning well by daily inspection and initiating necessary action to attend any deficiencies noted during the inspection. – To ensure that the communication equipment are in good working condition for effective inspection and maintenance of the plant premises for fire safety. – To maintain update knowledge on the plant road close outs and major maintenance activities by conducting daily plant tour and ensuring that the fire fighting equipment installed in the plant are in good condition and wherever required to ensure immediate maintenance. – To monitor fire fighters leaves plans, unauthorized absence, delay in reporting for duty etc. – To supervise the activities of fire-crew and prepare/coordinate with fire training officer in training programs for fire fighting crew and auxiliary firemen. – To coordinate with other sections in the plant to update inspections, drills and training programs to suit operational requirement as well as provide input for fire fighter training drills for effective maintenance. – To provide instruction & training to meet Competency Base Training programs for UAE Nationals. – To contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of section systems, processes and practices taking into account â€˜International best practiceâ€™ improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement. – To ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instruction and controls are adhere to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed. – To comply with Company Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSE-MS) and also promote awareness of its use among the assigned personnel. – To establish competent work force and support Emiratization target by identifying gaps in staff competencies and develop them to meet COMPANYâ€™s HC requirement. – To prepare periodical MIS and progress reports on sectional activities to keep to management informed about the progress of all initiates and to facilitate decision making.
