Fire Training Specialist – Client of Five Continents in Abu Dhabi
Required Skills –> Basic Function and Scope: –> Job Purpose: Responds by day and night to emergency incidents involving Fire, Hydrocarbon and Toxic Gas Release, Rescue, Vehicle Rescue, Fire Loss Control, Biological and Radioactive related situations throughout Jebel Dhanna on a 24/7 basis. During any incident, supervises Fire and Rescue Team personnel and Auxiliary Fire Team members as appropriate and assumes responsibilities of On-Scene Commander. Post holder works on an 8 hour shift day basis and is required to respond to incidents at night outside of his normal working hours as required by the COMPANY JD facilities Response Plan. Work covers the JD industrial area, jetty, tank farm, utilities, administration, warehousing and accommodation facilities. D evelops and advises F&R-SC on all matters related to fire training including: codes and standards, emergency response, fire fighting plans and techniques, evacuation procedures, all aspects of Firemenâ€™s professional training (both team competencies and individual career development), including UAE Nationals, to internationally recognized standards and qualifications. Ensures that the JD Fire Brigade is trained and ready to respond to calls for mutual aid assistance honouring COMPANY â€™s committment and obligations. Liases with all other mutual aid partners, develops mutual effective training whereby all members become fully conversant with one anothers facilities, risks, fire procedures, systems and equipment. Principle Accountabilities: (i) Supervises the activities of Fire Training at Jebel Dhanna, also cordinating with HSED and Bu Hasa Training Centre and ensures that all training is completed safely and in line with accepted standards and JD Fire Brigade requirements. (ii) In emergencies, assumes the role of On-Scene Commander until relieved by a more senior fire officer, namely JD F&R Station Commander or CFO. Thereafter, directly leads and s upervises fire and rescue emergency teams involved in fire fighting, oil and gas release control measures, rescue, vehicle accident, medical emergencies and other incident intervention activities. (iii) Prepares training aids and presents, (or coordiates and arranges) all aspects of professional emergency response training for Fire & Rescue Team personnel at all levels including UAE Nationals undergoing Career Development Programmes (CDP) and Personnel Development Programmes (PDP). (iv) Fire Training covering fire fighting techniques, associated equipment risks within JD, including specialist trailer monitors (canons), also hydro-chem fire fighting equipment for storage tank full surface fires. (v) Prepares training aids and presents fire team leadership, fire, hot work stand-by duty, Breathing Apparatus and life support training courses, BA refilling, rescue and chemical incident training courses for personnel and emergency fire teams. (vi) Plans and implements simulated exercises by day and night for emergency response personnel, including the Auxiliary Fire Team and REFMAC (Mutual Aid) partners. (vii) Prepares training aids and gives instruction on all equipment that is used within the department for related technician activities, including but not limited to, air compressors, carbon dioxide compressor, dry chemical recharging machines, BA test rigs, gas detector calibration etc. (viii) Ensures comprehensive training records/database in relation to training activities and prepares reports and assessments on trainees. Prepares reports with recommendations which result from simulated emergency exercises for all JDâ€™s ER Teams. (ix) Keeps abreast with all relevant developments including legislation, standards, techniques and equipment in order to ensure that training is relevant and current. Also identifies international specialist fire team training facilities. (x) Supervises and gives instruction on the use, testing and maintenance of major fire fighting vehicles and storage tank major fire fighting trailer monitors in order
