Job purpose: To Control, Direct and Plan the fleet and workshop in order to reduce operational cost and improve vehicle maintenance. KEY accountabilities: Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements. Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met. Manages maintenance managers to ensure performance and cost focus across the area. Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets Managing all the process of the accidents with the coordination of operation supervisor Creating monthly reports on accidents, breakdowns, registration, insurance and maintenance Managing the usage of the tyres and consumables for best cost effective practice as well as safety regulations. Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized Implementing all the rules and regulation provided from regulators and government. Control and manage the quality of the bus at all times Assists in budget process as required Control and managing the workshop status, cost and the quality. Strong coordination with Operation Manager in preparation of the vehicles Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, and training staff and maintenance managers, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions. Motivates, coaches, counsels and disciplines managers according to Waste Management’s policies and procedures and ensures that maintenance managers are in compliance with the standards in their administration of counselling and disciplinary steps Responsible of Fleet life management cycles Managing and Implementing KPI’s for the vehicles utilization and maintenance Plan, direct, coordinate and review the work plan for fleet maintenance staff; assign work activities, projects and programs; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems Assume management responsibility for the replacement of vehicles and equipment; analyze costs to replace or repair equipment; make recommendations as appropriateApply for this job.
