Senior Electrical Support Engineer – Client of Five Continents in Abu Dhabi
– Plans preventive maintenance requirements and frequencies for all major electrical plant and equipment. Includes work required, standard procedures and resources. Determines frequency guided by manufacturer recommendation, Company experience and equipment operating history. – Plans and supervises the execution of all major overhaul work on electrical plant and equipment. Includes: – Liaises with other engineers, maintenance and operations personnel to identify and include other maintenance, inspection and modification work during shutdown. – Establishes maintenance scope of work, material specifications, engineering standards and completion time schedule. – Reviews tender and contract documents related to shutdown and major overhaul. Participates in technical and commercial evaluation of bids and recommendation of successful bidder. – supervises maintenance and modification work carried out by contractor and address problems/queries, as required. – Provides specialist engineering input on scope of work and specifications. – Reviews contractor progress reports and advises on corrective actions to be taken to ensure original completion dates are met. – Endorses variation orders within the scope of his discipline and authority limits. – Prepares scope of work for all maintenance contracts – Represents Maintenance Department on Engineering projects with electrical engineering contents undertaken in assigned field. – Reviews scope of work, technical specifications to ensure compatibility and maintainability of new plant and equipment. – Reviews and comments on conceptual, basic and detailed design packages. – Attends commissioning and start up activities of new plant and equipment and comments on their maintainability. – Ensures timely receipt of manufacturers maintenance manuals, sets maintenance frequencies, related standard procedures and liaises with Work Planning personnel to update 3Ms with related details accordingly. – Reviews SPIRs and commissioning spares. – Carries out ongoing engineering studies to justify replacements, modifications, additions, or deletion to plant and equipment. This includes: – Carries out on going plant and equipment survey to establish major capital engineering replacements and or modification work. – Liaises with operations to discuss recurring operational problems, reviews maintenance records to determine breakdown frequency and trends. – Prepares engineering requirements for new plant/equipment and or modification and specifies reasons for change/modification together with cost benefit analysis. – Prepares project costing and related work implementation programs. – Reviews manpower requirements. Specifies resources required to sustain maintenance operations in light of production targets. – Ensures availability of adequate level of stock materials and spares to sustain maintenance operations. Ensures proper engineering standards are observed in all procurement activities related to maintenance materials and spares. – Reviews and recommends optimal stock levels and advises on interchangeability of parts where applicable. – Checks material requisitions to ensure requirements are within set standards and stock level. – Liaises with Supply Division to ensure availability of critical equipment insurance spares, and advises on criticality in terms of specifications, manufacturersâ€™ lead time, stock level and cost. – Advise on updating material vocabulary and directs revision of specifications in light of information obtained from manufacturers. – Checks and endorses specifications of new materials, spares and equipment from manufacturersâ€™ drawings and inspection reports submitted by bidders. – Investigates chronic maintenance problems by reviewing and analyzing reliable plant and equipment maintenance data.
