Senior Instrument Engineer (Sulphur Station) – Client of Five Continents in Abu Dhabi
1. Reports to the Operations Shift Superintendent. 2. Collaborates and provides appropriate consultation with the Instrument and Controls engineers, Process engineers and HSE engineers in the Central Engineering organization. 3. Meets regularly and maintains good working relationships with the Instrument and Controls Engineers in the EPC Contractor organization and MAC organization. 4. Supports and works the Operability Assurance plan and program to achieve readiness for operations. 5. Ensures HSE requirements for equipment and systems are met or exceeded 6. Deals primarily with the following systems: i. Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems ii. Fire and Gas (F&G systems) iii. Conveyor systems, Weigh Bridges and Scales iv. Solid handling and storage system facilities. v. Machine Monitoring systems interfaces vi. Tanks Gauging product measurement and calibration vii. Analyzer Network viii. Package Instrument and Control systems ix. Field Instrumentation (including transmitters, analyzers, ESD valves, Control valves, F&G devices, etc.) x. DCS and DCS interfaces 7. Engineering / Construction Activities for the EPC contract i. Site Surveys and reports ii. Vendor Lists iii. ESD Architecture iv. F&G Architecture v. Control Philosophy vi. ESD Philosophy vii. Material Requisitions viii. I/O allocation verification ix. Control Room Layout x. Instrument Shelter layout xi. Analyzer Shelter layout xii. Field Instrument layout xiii. F&G layout xiv. Participation in P&ID / HAZOP / LOPA / SIL reviews 8. Operability Assurance Activities during Engineering and Construction i. Contributes to the development of the various instrument & control systems and processes required for start-up and operations ii. Works on follow-up actions from I&C portion of the maintenance quality system iii. Consults with Operations Shift Superintendent and Sr. Instrument and Controls Engineers to align all EPC package I&C system development to the same standard iv. Contributes to the Annual Budget preparations v. Review and approve requirements for Instrument testing workshop facilities. vi. Involve in pre-commissioning and commissioning document review and approval vii. Participates in Mechanical Completion walk-downs, punch list close out viii. Participates in pre-commissioning ix. Participates in commissioning x. Review and follow-up of hand-over documentation (e.g. Operations / Maintenance manuals, CMMS data, etc.) xi. Participate in and certifies system loop checks xii. FATs and SATs xiii. Review and recommendation of commissioning and two-year Instrument spares xiv. Review and recommendation of insurance spares xv. SPIR reviews xvi. Provides instrument testing and inspection requirements for A&OI Program xvii. Reviews instrument reliability data input into RAM analysis. xviii. Standardization. xix. Control; loop tuning xx. Prepares Control and Operability records
