SENIOR OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH OFFICER – Client of Five Continents in Abu Dhabi
Basic Function: • To manage, occupational health, safety and environment issues and monitor the performance management of the Occupational HSE section also to deputize for the VPHSE. • To ensure that Company Codes of Practice and Company Occupational HSE Requirements are effectively integrated into the business activities of Company and its Contractors. • Provide quality support and advice to the various Company Divisions for activities carried out by or on behalf of the Company. Worked Performed: • To provide HSE support services to the various Divisions within Company to assist them in achieving the Occupational HSE performance requirements of Company. • To plan and coordinate the activities of the Occupational HSE section members including the establishing and monitoring of personal performance targets for each in accordance with staff Performance Appraisal Process; • Provides input to the development & maintenance of the Company HSE Management System including the development of Occupational Health and Hygiene Standards, Plans, Procedures and Guidelines and the HSE Management System certification process (i.e., OHSAS 18001); • Manages HSE owned contracts as assigned by the VPHSE; • Provides occupational HSE input to the annual HSE Budget; • Provides inputs to the preparation of Company HSE Key (lagging & leading) Performance Indicators as part of the Balanced Scorecard process’ • To manage and provide Occupational HSE input to HSE Performance Reporting processes including Company Annual Sustainability Letter • Promotes a value-centered, positive culture, shared by out contractors and focused on HSE excellence. Participate in various programs such as Delivering as 1, Incident Injury Free (IIF), Behavioral Safety Observations, and Leadership HSE Development initiatives • Participates in HSE Motivation, Reward and Recognition programs • Ensures compliance by all parties with Company HSE requirements and regulations and all relevant legislation and statutory requirements, including all laws, rules and regulations (as amended from time to time) of the governments of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the U.A.E. • Ensures compliance with Company’s strategic objectives, requirements, expectations, priorities, policies, procedures, standards, rules, regulations and guidelines provided by COMPANY form time to time. • Ensures that projects are technically sound and optimally designed, engineered to appropriate standards and specifications, meeting required product specification and meeting Occupational HSE requirements. • Ensures that timely identification of Occupational HSE hazards, evaluation of risks for all activities and development of effective tools to manage and reduce these risks to ALARP • Prepare business cases to support significant change and/or investment to improve HSE Performance. • Provides input to the preparation and upkeep of HSEIAS • Ensures COMPANY Occupational HSE performance requirements are included in all contracts • Ensures the Occupational HSE roles and responsibilities for Company and key Contractor and vendor positions are identified, documented and communicated. • Ensures that Company & Contractor Occupational HSE programs are implemented, reviewed and improved as needed. • Ensures robust HSE Learning & Development and Competence Assurance processes are implemented for Company & Contractor team members, with special emphasis on those responsible for HSE Critical Activities. • Participates in incident investigations • Supports the professional development of Emirati HSE personnel • Provides input to the Corporate 5 year HSE Audit Plan and Divisional Audit/ Inspection Programs • Provides input to Company HSE Award Submissions • Supports the annual HSE Management Review • Supports Company submissions to external HSE Forums/Events/Exhibitions
Minimum Requirements • A Bachelor’s or Master of Science degree in safety, health, environmental, technical, scientific, or related engineering field from an accredited university with minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the oil/gas industry. Experience on large-scale oil/gas and petrochemical capital projects preferred. • Minimum of 5 years experience in a managerial position. • Has clearly demonstrated strong Occupational HSE Management and technical competencies. • Has proven leadership skills • Has operated effectively within a multi-cultural environment, preferably within the UAE. • Effective interpersonal and teambuilding skills. • Proven ability to positively influence key stakeholders • Strong written and oral communication skills – Source from NaurikiGulf UAEApply for this job.
